Are you Watching Too Much TV?
With the latest technologies and exploits, the temptation to watch TV is increasingly harder to resist. The more we try to restrain ourselves from watching TV, the more we find ourselves in front of the box. How then do you know if you are watching too much TV, so much so that it is way too much for your own good?
This article serves to provide a checklist for TV addicts to ensure that their well loved pastime is benefiting them instead of doing too much harm to them.
Checklist for TV Addicts
Be on the Alert if you spot yourself with the following:-
- You feel tired and lethargic most of the time- the “vegging” syndrome

If you have answered “yes” to at least 5 of the above VCSFHLFS syndromes, then you need to sit up and buck up. You are watching way too much TV for your own good. Remember, TV is a great channel of information and education. It is even a great source of relaxation for those of us who need to wind down from daily stress and have some form of recreation. However, you would have to complete your tasks for the day before you watch TV. In other words, you need to get your priority right. We’ve listed the priority list for your benefit:-
- Work and School
- Household chores
- Family and Social time
- Exercise and Physical activity
- Finally, if you have some spare time, then go ahead and enjoy your favourite TV programs!
Remember to end your TV time promptly so that you may catch sufficient sleep for you to have a fresh and energised start the next morning.
As long as you are doing these things then no one can tell you that you watch too much TV, because it is only when your life start falling apart around that someone can say that you watch too much TV.
